Business software first. A trusted pet-care network built from there.
Houndtrust is business software for independent pet-care professionals. It started inside a working Salt Lake City home-boarding business, where eight to ten dogs can be in the house on a normal night and the paperwork has to keep up.
Houndtrust brings client and dog records, Trust Link intake, signed agreements, bookings, recurring schedules, capacity checks, reminders, GPS walk tracking, payment requests, balances, and accounting exports into one workspace. Pip helps write updates, and the caregiver reviews every message before it goes to a client.
This is subscription software, not a public booking marketplace. Houndtrust charges no marketplace commission on clients a professional brings. Manual payment methods have no Houndtrust transaction fee. Optional connected cards carry the published caregiver-paid automation fee.
Where Houndtrust is going
The long-term bet starts with software people choose to run every day.
Marketplaces are good at discovery. Independent professionals still need a system they own after a client knows them by name. Houndtrust is building that operating system now, then using the trust earned there to support a wider network later.
Earn the operating relationship
Houndtrust starts with the work a pet-care professional handles every day: intake, signed paperwork, bookings, calendars, client updates, payment requests, and business records. The first job is to make that system useful enough to run the whole book of business.
Build the network from real work
The planned next stage adds a native mobile app and more ways for pet owners to find verified local professionals. Background checks and Houndtrust-introduced bookings belong to that later stage. The clients a professional earns independently remain theirs.
Use AI for the admin
Pip already turns a caregiver's rough notes into a client update that the caregiver reviews before sending. The same rule guides future AI work: surface useful details, cut repetitive work, and keep the professional in control of care decisions and client communication.
Protect the independent business
Houndtrust is designed around client ownership and portable records. Professionals can export their business data, use fee-free manual payment methods, and keep every client relationship they build themselves.
Native mobile and marketplace expansion are planned, not available today. Priorities and release order can change. The product page keeps live and planned features separate.
Why Houndtrust can be different
The product is being built by the person using it.
Founder Dave Waggins runs a home dog-boarding business on Houndtrust. The workflows come from real bookings, missed-detail risks, client questions, and the month-end money work of a small operator. That gives Houndtrust a direct test for every feature: does it make the professional better prepared without getting between them and their client?
Houndtrust is open to serious conversations about partnerships, investment, and acquisition. Product fit and the trust of independent pet-care professionals come first.
